If your boiler is over 10–15 years old, breaking down regularly or pushing up your gas bills, a replacement often makes more sense than another repair. Here's what a new gas boiler typically costs in Dublin in 2026, fully installed and including VAT.

Typical installed prices in 2026

  • Like-for-like replacement (same type of boiler, same position): roughly €2,200–€3,300
  • New combi boiler: roughly €2,500–€4,500
  • System boiler with a hot water cylinder: roughly €2,600–€4,900
  • Converting to a combi (removing the cylinder and attic tanks): typically adds around €600–€1,200 to a straight swap

These are typical Irish market prices for 2026, not a fixed quote. Dublin labour usually costs a little more than the rest of the country. For an exact price for your home, ask us for a free quote.

What affects the price

The boiler itself is only part of the cost. The main things that change the final price are:

  • Boiler type, brand and size – a bigger home with more bathrooms needs a more powerful boiler
  • Moving the boiler to a new location, which means new pipework and a new flue
  • Flue changes, especially vertical flues through the roof
  • Cleaning the system – a powerflush or chemical clean to remove sludge, so the new boiler isn't damaged by dirty water
  • A magnetic filter to protect the new boiler – many manufacturers require one for their longer warranties
  • Smart heating controls, if you want to control your heating from your phone

Are there grants for a new gas boiler?

There is no SEAI grant for replacing a gas boiler with another gas boiler. If your home was built and occupied before 2011, you may be eligible for the SEAI heating controls grant when you upgrade your controls, which must be fitted by an SEAI registered contractor. The larger SEAI grants are for heat pumps and insulation. Read our guide to gas boilers vs heat pumps if you're weighing up the options.

Spreading the cost

A new boiler is a big expense, especially if it comes unexpectedly. We offer finance options so you can spread the cost.

Is a new boiler worth it?

A modern condensing boiler is far more efficient than a 15–20-year-old non-condensing model, so it can noticeably cut your gas bills. You also get a new manufacturer's warranty and fewer breakdowns. If you're not sure whether to repair or replace, our engineers will give you an honest answer.
